Fort Collins Reads — Branding Campaign

Fort Collins Reads (FCR) is a volunteer program that brings the community together to read & discuss the same book. The program hosts different events based around the book & author throughout the year.

FCR chose the book In the Garden of Beasts, written by Erik Larson. The book is about an American family that is sent to live in Germany by Franklin D. Roosevelt, during the first year of Hitler's rule.

The logo represents books leaning on a shelf & an "F" which stands for the city of Fort Collins. The updated tagline, "One community, one book, many stories," describes what FCR's program is all about. This identity campaign includes the following collateral (in order from top to bottom):

  • Logo (greyscale & inverse)

  • Stationery Set (letterhead, envelope, & business card)

  • Visiting Artist Poster – Erik Larson (In the book, In the Garden of Beasts, the family lives in "Tiergarten," which translates to "Garden of Beasts." The graphic on the poster is a representation of this garden

  • Franklin D. Roosevelt Promotional Event (full & quarter page ads, & bookmark)
